I had a sling operation for incontinence 2 years ago.

At the time of my surgery, the doctor said I would need to see her every year from then on. I saw her last year and had no problems and the followup appointment for this year was scheduled at that time. I heard a rumor at the hospital where I work, which is the same hospital I had the surgery at, that she no longer was seeing patient's there. By the way, her practice was actually a city 60 miles away but she and the other doctors in her practice took turns coming to our local hospital. I talked to someone at that office and was only told she no longer was there. I've done google searches and cannot find her. They offered to have me see another doctor in that practice but so far I declined. How important is it to be followed every year after a sling operation? The only problem I have is a little incontinence if I don't get to the bathroom as soon as the urge hits. I absolutely hate the thoughts of seeing someone else. If only I could find her, I'd be willing to drive a ways for an appointment.

How did your sling operation go? The doctor that I went to today suggested this procedure and I need some input from someone who has had this operation. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
