I'm 22 and I have bladder problems...Hi.
I'm a 22-year old man who's been having bladder problems for as long as I can remember. I wet my bed for many many years and now I have to run to the bathroom all the time. It's terrible when I'm out with my friends drinking beer, wine or whatever. It doesn't take long until I have to pee and after I go for the first time I have to go ALL THE TIME. Even If I've just went to the bathroom and hasn't had anything more to drink, I have to go soon again... It's really hard and I've actually had accidents where I haven't been able to go to a bathroom in time and... Well... :/ I really hope that someone can help me! I haven't been to a doctor yet.. mostly because I'm embarrased. Thank you in advance.
Re: I'm 22 and I have bladder problems...hey, sounds to me like overactive bladder. I too suffered since a young child with bed wetting and sudden urges during the day. I had no idea what was wrong with me (I am now a 25 year old female). My night time "problem" went away for a few years in my late teens early 20s and suddenly came back (while in bed with my boyfriend, how embarrassing!)
I feel your pain and embarrassment...but I suggest talking to your doctor. I finally got the courage to talk to my doctor after that incident while sleeping in bed with my boyfriend. She refered me to a urologist and I was put on Detrol at first, then after that stopped working I was put on Ditropan XL. I find it works quite a bit (not a complete cure but it sure helps). I hope you get the courage to talk to your doctor...I'm sure he/she will be totally understanding (as mine was). Please post what you think...
Re: I'm 22 and I have bladder problems...Hey, I feel your pain. I'm a 21 yr old female with bladder problems since I was 6.
I highly encourage you to go to a urologist. First you need to go to your family doctor who then will refer you to the urologist. It's embarrassing, yes, but you need to realize a million other people have these same issues as you do, and the doctor has heard everything... Don't feel alone because you aren't.
