Re: monarc sling and cannot urinateI am better. My surgery only lasted about one hour and had the Foley cath overnight. Got out of the hospital the next day with no problem. But after about 6 hours at home, could not go. They put cath back in for 5 days. It came out again and the same thing happened so I had it for 3 more days. So far, I'm 5 days with out and ok. I have to go alot 1-2 hours but I can see improvement now. Dr. said swelling has caused the problem. I hope I'm on the road to recovery.
Hope your surgery goes well, Laura
Re: monarc sling and cannot urinateI had the sling one week ago as well (Friday). I could not urinate post op and came home with a foley. Had it removed on Monday and managed to pee (slowly) on my own. NOW, it is Thursday and I feel like I am not able to empty my bladder, when I do have to go it is with great urgency, then a long slow dribble. I see my Dr. again on Monday and wondering if anyone else is having this same experience.
Re: monarc sling and cannot urinateI still have this problem that you describe. I go to the bathroom a lot and void only a little. Dr. told me it takes time for the bladder to reposition so I'm just trying to be patient. I don't feel that I empty and that is the reason for going so many times but I still have bladder spasms.
Post back what the dr says.
Re: monarc sling and cannot urinateI'll report again on Monday after my Dr. appt. I've noticed that my position while sitting on the toilet makes a difference in flow, which makes me understand your Dr's response about bladder position. I was thinking the slow flow is due to swelling or spasm. I do not have pain when I urinate, but get a weird sensation that shudders throughout my chest and shoulders. I've experienced this same feeling before when I was suffering froma kidney infection. I'm on antiobiotics post surgery and am not feverish; I am confident I do not have an infection.
Re: monarc sling and cannot urinatehope you don't have an infection. I can say that the sling has stopped the leaks when I cough, sneeze, etc. I just hope that the spasms will stop so I don't have the bathroom visits so ofter. Stay in touch.
Laura
Re: monarc sling and cannot urinateThanks for the good wishes...I'm confidant I do not have an infection and I'm very pleased that once again, I can cough, sneeze, laugh, etc. and not dribble!! I am anxious to hear what my Dr. has to say about my current post op condition..I wiull be sure to lwt you know what he has to say.
Re: monarc sling and cannot urinateMIne was general and I stayed in hospital overnight. The worse part is the inner muscles on legs. They spread your legs so far apart, they are sore for a day. They did not tell me that.
Hope all goes well, Laura
