What's wrong with me

Post a new topicby need2know on Sat Sep 08, 2007 8:45 pm

I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago due to a dull pain in my right back and blood in my urine (looks the color of prune juice). 1 week later I returned to the doctor office for a follow up. The pain was gone but my urine still contained the same amount of blood. I was given a CT scan with no sign of stones present. The doctor tapped on my back looking for pain and within 20 minutes I was having severe pain in my right lower back right below my ribs. The pain was so intense I was vomiting and no position felt confortable. I felt as if I couldn't sit so I pace around. The blood discontinued during this pain attack but returned when the pain went away 4 hours later. Four days later the pain returned and once again the blood discontinued but came back when the pain went away. The urine in my blood changes from time to time from prune juice colored to like a bright red fruit punch color. There is no pain when I urinate. My doctor said I might have already passed a stone but I can't believe I would be in that much pain after and not notice it pass, and why would the blood still be present? I have taken 2 different antibiotics since then with no results.

I am 23 years old. When I had my first daughter 3 years ago their were lots of complications forcing me to be on a cathetar. The cathetar became blocked and I informed the nurse of the pain. She ignored it and since no urine was coming out she thought i need liquids, so they kept pumping them into me in attemp to get me to urinate. 2 days later I had to rip out the cathetar to urinate. Since then i have had many urine and kidney infections. Not sure if this is connected to my current situation or not.

Sounds like you might want to get an IVP to make sure you do not have a stone, the catheter issue should not have anything to do with your current problem
