Mastectomy

Post a new topicby Spatz on Tue Aug 05, 2008 12:45 pm

Hi. I had a left breast mastectomy a month ago for invasive cancer. A peripheral lymph node biopsy was negative. Although most of my breast was removed, there is a residual 1/4 of my upper breast remaining. I am not sure whether this is normal swelling or the surgeon did not do a complete job. He just shrugs it off. I am concerned that any residual breast tissue is a haven for new cancer growth. Should I get a second opinion?
