Bunion Surgery

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Feb 27, 2002 9:27 pm

I'm 19 and had double bunion surgery last June. I am doing fine, except for bruising at the base of my toes going across the top of my foot on both feet.. I haven't experienced any significant pain, except when pressure is applied to the bruised area. My Podiatrist is baffled. X-rays are negative and my range of motion is good. My scar is slightly thickened and still darkish. Any ideas?

Someimes, when skin stretches due to swelling, the skin can become discolored. Gradually it should go away. However, if it continues to be painful, you may want to get an MRI of your foot to make sure nothing is occurring under the skin. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
