on the road to my 3rd possible 4th surgery? please advise!Hello, i am 23 years old and have already had three foot surgeries. My first one was in March 2006 on my right foot to remove the bunion and that went fine, I was up in 3 weeks and running again in 6 months! Well i go for my bunionectomy on my left foot in Mach 2007 and immediately after i wasnt the same. After the normal healing period 6 + months i was getting this popping/pain sensation when ever i would apply pressure (walking, standing etc...) to the bunion joint. Went back to my podiatrist and we tried cortizone shots, new orthodotics, new shoes, low impact excersise, even electrotherapy. Nothing worked so in May 2008 I agreed to another surgery since it was my only option to get me running and walking normally again. While they were in surgery they had to perform two artifical bone grafts due to lack of bone? (still unsure of why that had to happen) and i now have 6 screws in my left foot! Now a year and half later my foot is doing the same thing again with the popping and pain. And to top it off it seems a screw is now forcing its way out on my right foot. There is a small hard round bump where there wasnt one before....I just need advice should i go for a third maybe fourth surgery? would there be enough bone to sustain another surgery? Im scared because i now have to go through the VA health care system since i am now a 40% disabled veteran.
