Hi Everybody. I am a 21 year old college student and I was diagnosed with Cervical dysplasia in late june. I knew that my pap smear was going to be abnormal because back in september (almost a year before), I had some bleeding between my normal period. I had the same thing happen to me a year ago… spotting and an abnormal pap which resulted in a diagnosis of HPV and Chlamydia! Of course my boyfriend blames me and I blame him. I obviously know who is lying. The Chlamydia was cured right away… that was easy. For the next year I had normal paps with no dysplasia (repeated paps every 4 mths). I thought I was in the clear until I began spotting again last month. My latest pap was abnormal with the diagnosis at stage II cervical dysplasia I am having the LEEP procedure next week. I can’t say when I contracted HPV but it was likely a year ago and HPV seems to be causing more issues than the Chlamydia (if caught early, there should be no scaring). I have a friend who has had the LEEP with no recurrence of dysplasia and she is now pregnant. That keeps me hopeful. I have had the HPV vaccine just to be sure I don’t end up with the most dangerous viruses and I would recommend it. This whole experience is eye opening. Hope you remain dysplasia free and never miss a pap. Good luck.
