I had my first LEEP procedure in Dec. 2004 due to high-risk HPV, (had been married for 3 months) and had normal paps until after the delivery of my first child in Aug. 2007. I have had my first pap since delivery in March 2008, and once again came back abnormal with high-risk HPV I am scheduled for a colposcopy in April 08, then probably another LEEP. I had a 2 LEEPs 10 years ago,(8 years after my daughter was born) due to an abnormal pap and I have not had another child since then. Every year for the past ten years, my results had been clean. I got the phone call last week stating we need to do another colposcopy in May. The news hit me like a ton of bricks. All I kept thinking was there must be some mistake. The fact is, there is no mistake. Cervical Dysplasia never really goes away. It will always be an ongoing battle, until I decide to change my lifestyle.
