Living with Dysplasia!!

Post a new topicby livingwith on Mon Mar 09, 2009 3:00 pm

Hi, My name is Angela. I am 18 years old and live with dysplasia. My doctor found it January of 2008 when I was 17. When I was sent to a OBGYN she told me what she was going to do as far as treatment then sent me on my way. As for seeing this Gyno again I have not. She charged me (at the time 17 y/o with very little cash) one-hundred dollars. I have not paid her because what was the point on paying for advice that you already knew. Just so you know my older sister had dysplasia as well. So here ...Read the full article

Hi Angela,

I just read your story and all I want to say is that you are not alone. One month ago I was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia caused from HPV, I thought my life was over. I'm 32, I've been in a monogomous relationship for two years. I've been with only a few men in my life and to have been diagnosed with a STD shocked me only because I've been so careful with having my new partners get tested for every STD you can think of. Unfortunately, there are no HPV tests for men so as women we are the ones who get to find out by our doctors. Anyways, the reality is, I now have it BUT does not mean I will have it for the rest of my life. I've done alot of research and the good news is that it can be reversable - both HPV and cervical dysplasia. I asked my conventional doctor what foods to avoid or eat to help me heal, he said there's nothing you can do just let it happen naturally. I just knew that as women, or people in general, we can't wait around for doctors to cure us. We must be proactive and take control of our lives.
I've always been a healthy eater but I discovered it wasn't enough. I now take a good dose of vitamins and eat extremely healthy. You're only 18, the mere fact that you're so young, your body will naturally heal on it own. If you're interested where I got some of my information on this matter was on one site of a woman who reversed HPV and cervical dysplasia... buellerskitchen.com.

Good luck and enjoy your life.
