biopsy

Post a new topicby rogerjunkie on Wed Sep 26, 2007 2:04 pm

I have just recently been diagnosed with cervical dysplasia I did plenty of research on the tests the doctor performs. I will have a repeat PAP done in November. That is such a long time away. I feel like I'm going insane. I'm having a little cramping or a tightening feeling and a tingle of blood. I just want to know what to expect. Are the coloscopies (not sure I spelled that correct) very painful while they are being done? I know that there can be some cramping after, but what about during?

I got a biopsy done almost two weeks ago. The biopsy is not painful. You may spot a day or two after the procedure. I had cramping for like the first 30 minutes after it was done. If the coloscopy doesnt show any lesions you may not need a biopsy at all. So try to relax in the meantime (as I have been told). Good luck and take care of yourself.

I had a coloscopy about 2.5 yrs ago and it wasn't so bad. I felt a light "pinch" when they took the biopsy. I think the hard part was waiting for the results and the yucky bleeding that was best described as "coffee grinds" by my doc.

Hang in there!
