Cervical Dysplasia **Mild to Moderate**I'm 24 yrs old. I dont have kids or anything & I was told last year that I had endometerosis. Well now I get told that I have an abnormal pap, & so I have a second one done, and it was still abnormal. Im suffering from mild & moderate dysplasia. I'm VERY confused cause I've been reading up on this & it's bugging me out! I dont know if I was tested for the HPV virus, my doctor never said anything about that. I was tested for everything else & I was fine with everything. I have to call her back & find out cause I guess thats the only way that Im going to know. But I need to know everything I can about this. I'm a smoker, I know thats a factor.. I was on birth control .. I stopped that in October. I've only been with 5 guys, I was tested each time afterwards. I dont think losing my virginity at 19 is too early... I dont know Im so confused! Anyone with any advice thats going through this... its very much needed! thanks.
Re: Cervical Dysplasia **Mild to Moderate**Hey, I understand what you are going threw. I am going for my biopsie in 3 weeks! 80 to 90% of women with displasia is caused by HPV! I am also 24 I am a smoker well quit now I ma on the pill also. I strongly beleive that mine was cause by hpv Most of the people I have spoken to that has had dyplasia told me to relax cause its not that bad but I can't stop worrying!!!!
Re: Cervical Dysplasia **Mild to Moderate**Hey I was told I have dysplasia several weeks ago but no HPV I will have cryosurgery today at 4 to remove the bad cells. Then go back in 2 months for another pap if everytihng is not okay then I going to have everything out. I have been going through this for 2 months 3 different procedures. I still do not understand everything. But I think maybe we caught it in time before it goes into cervical cancer. I am 43 years old never had a bad pap. Had baby at the age of 17. Been married for 25 years but I was still on the pill since thre birth. My docter said this could have caused my problems. Let me here form you. Julie
Re: Cervical Dysplasia **Mild to Moderate**Im thinking the same with your doctor on that, it could be caused from the pill.
I was honestly worried SO bad, but after talking to another doctor, Im really not. I recently found out that I have the hpv virus, but theres SO many types of hpv I go in the 28th of this month for my cyrosurgery. Im not thrilled about that, but I do plan on taking pain killers before I walk in that door. I also told my boyfriend that I have it, we havent slept together, but he's been reading up on it as well, just getting to know more about that. He always does things like that & I think its just the sweetest that he wants to know what Im going through & how to help me if he can. Another relief is knowing you're not alone. Guys carry this too. Of course they only get one symptom. Warts. We get to face the cervical cancer, the possible chance of not having kids (I've heard it's been really hard for some people), the warts (just in certain hpv's DONT FREAK UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT KIND YOU HAVE)! I think it was 70% of people have it & a majority dont even know! It can go right through a condom I think I read so much about this because I seriously was freaked out. It doesnt pay to worry about it. Personally, Im finding this not to be that bad. Also, question your doctor WHAT KIND of HPV you have, if you have it. I noticed once you find out, it's not that bad. I have the one that caused my cervical dysplasia (which is likely in your cases as well) Keep me posted & I will be happy to do the same! :) Michelle.
Re: Cervical Dysplasia **Mild to Moderate**I was insanely freaked about this too. I was almost considering not having the cyrosurgery done. I go in the 28th of this month, and I am nervous but with the help of pain killers before I walk into that room, I should be fine. My boyfriends been really supportive, just reading up on this & just being there to talk about this whenever. I did find out that I have HPV Theres so many types. Honestly, dont freak out until you know the kind that you have. Mine was just the one that caused the cervical dysplasia Theres so many people that have it & dont even know. I think I read up a lot about this & it really makes you nervous cause you'll see some articles where it'll say can cause warts etc.. It just depends on the kind of HPV you have. Like I said, ask your doctor. But for reassurance, you're not even close to being alone. It's really not that bad. I also found out that doctors dont test for this, not even in guys. When our paps come back abnormal, thats when they test for it. It can also go right through a condom It's with you for life. After 6 months to 2 years theres a chance it can be ineffective. And the sad thing about all of this, it's rapidly spreading. Theres no cure.. Everything about it just sucks. Like I said though, I found out about a month ago, maybe less than... Once I found out the kind that I have, I really dont think its all that bad and just knowing Im not alone & that I can look at my friend, coworker whoever & know that they could have it too.
Keep me posted! :) Michelle.
