Cone biopsy and Heavy bleeding

Post a new topicby MargoCh on Tue Apr 14, 2009 12:38 pm

I just had a cone biopsy 11 days ago, and afterwards just had some light bleeding and watery pink discharge. Then 2 days later, heavy bleeding started. But I was due to have my period, so it was heavier than normal, but I thought it was to be expected. But it's now 11 days later, and the bleeding has actually become even heavier over the past few days - I'm soaking a pad through every hour or two. Normally, my period only lasts about 4 days, and I get very light bleeding - I'd say I'm getting about 6 or 7 times more than I normally do, and it is lasting more than twice as long. And I also noticed about 4 or 5 sizable blood clots that have come out in the past couple days.

I haven't been able to get in touch with my doctor for the past five days, so I'm just wondering if this is normal or should I be concerned? I have no pain, no fever, and otherwise feel fine. Maybe just a little tired, if anything.

hi, i was wondering what your doctor said about the heavy periods and the blood clots. I also had the cone biopsy done about 6 months ago and i also had the heavy period and the blood clots about a 3 days later. I thaught that was normal but then my period never went back to normal i had to get on birth control pills to regulate my period because it became very unstabel and now there are some months that i have a very heavy period and 3 months ago i had to go to the hospital because i became to weak i would get tired if i walked or stand, they said i had lost 1/3 of my blood and had to have a blood transfusion. They never told me what was wrong or what could have caused it. All the doctors did was give me a blood transfusion and changed my birth controls and send home and told me to take iron pills. My problem is that it came back again last month and i am getting frustrated and don't know what els to do. i don't know if this happened because of the cirvical dysplasia or what could have been the reason. i have a doctors apointment comming but i am looking for things that could help me understand what happened.

thank you
