Diagnosed with CN2 -gyne wants to do a conization

Post a new topicby busy on Thu Sep 10, 2009 2:35 pm

I"m 58 yrs. old, and never had an abnormal pap until this Jan., and it came back CN1. Retested me , had a coloscopy and came back CN2! My gyne wants to do a conization, which I have a lot of reservations about. She saids the procedure takes about 20 min. I will be be given anesthesia I have had convulsions due to anesthia reactions and hypersensitivity to pain killers. I can't even handle codeine. The thought of having your cervical lining stripped and something else going wrong makes me so stressed out that I have not called my gyne back. I was thinking of doing something natural with a naturopath . And then again, I keep thinking, how about if this keeps progressing? If anyone has gone through this and can tell me what they experienced and the recovery, it would be helpful. If anyone also has opted out, and gone with natural alternative, I would also like to hear from youl

I'm 28 years old and my doctor just scheduled me for a cone biopsy so I am stressed out! I have a 12 year old daughter (had her when I was 16) and I've said before that I dont want anymore kids. But what I meant to say is I dont want kids right now but I might want to have one more in a couple of years. So the cone biopsy changes things a little because I will be at a higher risk for miscarriages. I keep thinking that maybe I should get a second opinion, I had cryotherapy once so maybe I should have cryotherapy again and that's it. My doctor told me that since it went from CN1 to CN2 it was a necessary procedure. I guess I'm also trying to find different methods because I am not convinced that cone biopsy is the only solution to this problem.
Moni.
