Re: Dysplasia III
Does anyone know what a diagnosis of Dysplasia III with "extensive gland involvement" refers to? I go to the Dr. Monday to find out what he plans to do for treatment, but until then this statement is frightening.
hi! well dysplasia 3 equals CIN 3( cervical intraepitelial neoplasy grade3) or HSil (high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions) which basicaly menas severe dysplasia that spans more than 2/3 of the epithelium, and may involve the full thickness and sometimes is hard to make diference betwen cin 3 and carcinoma in situ. but the 2 of them are very much different and the treatment is also different. and the extensive gland involvement means that the atipia spreaded to the gland stuctures as well, and knowing that the glands are in the stroma,my guess is ure dyspazia crossed the whole epithelium(since the stroma is below the epithelium). i am sorry ,this is bad news ,but at this point is curable maybe simply by an extended leep or a surgical conization (is better) and perform another anotomopathological exam on the pice. i wish u all the best,if u have more questions ,i´ll gladly answer!
