Cervical Dysplasia

Well in September 2006 I went in and got my yearly physical done, and he said he would call me with the results from my pap. I went with my mom in October 2006 back cause she was sick, and thats when he told me i had Cervical Dysplasia I am seeing a cancer specialist for that area of the female body and have been seeing him for over a year now. My test results keep coming back with low or moderate dysplasia. I have never been tested for HPV, all he said was the usually this is caused from HPV If it is that that I have had it for over 2 years now, my doctor wants to wait and see if my body is gonna cure the dysplasia on its own but I feel that if my body has not done it yet I bet it won't do it. I just wanna know if there is still a chance of my body taking care of it. My older sister had the same thing but they froze her cervix and she has had normal paps since, my doctor dose not want to do that because it can make problems for when I go to get pregnant. It just makes me mad waiting to see if S*** will get better or worse or anything just makes me mad, and sad! Anyone know if my body will be able to cure this this late into having it?

just found out a few weeks ago that I have moderate cervical dysplasia I'm 27 and my doctor said that typically under 30 your body rids itself of the virus. My HPV is of the high risk cancer causing kind. My treatment is a pap every 4 months to monitor any more cellular changes. You may need an HPV test to determine if that is the cause of your dysplasia. That way you'll know what treatments you should consider or if your body has a chance to rid it on its own. Out of curiosity, why are you seeing a cancer specialist?

Thank you for responding to my post:) Well it was my family doctor that found the abnormal pap and he went in and took skin off to test it. He called like a week later and said that all the skin samples he took came back normal so he thinks he cut the wrong area. He wanted me to just come back in so he could freeze it. My mom hated our doctor and thought he was stupid so she said she wanted to have me see a specialist, They sent me to him. I trust me doctor and all its just i have had it for so long just has me thinking that it won't ever happen. I see him every 2 to 4 months so when i go back in Feb. I will ask him to check if i have HPV i would like to know. Thank you so much for your responds:)!
