Severe Dysplasia...twice in one year

Post a new topicby gmthomas on Thu Jan 29, 2009 5:23 pm

I had severe cervical dysplasia, that was removed in July 2008 by laser. I went for my 6 month check in December 2008, and in January 2009 i was notified that i need to come back in for removal by the LEEP procedure, as my cervical dysplasia had returned, and it was severe again. I am scheduled to go for the LEEP on February 11. They said with the LEEP procedure, they will be able to save or use some tissue for further examination.

Has anyone else had recurrence this soon, or know what this may lead to getting it this soon after?

I have had moderate dysplasia for many years, but this past was the first severe. I just had the LEEP today to remove it and biopsy the area. Although it is a good way to get a biopsy sample, be prepared. I had local three times because I could still feel the loop. It was a very painful experience for me, and I am having a lot of bleeding. If you can, I would definitely be put under for the procedure.
