chemo and radiation for N-H Lymphoma

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jul 27, 2004 6:56 pm

I have just finished 4 cycles of chemo (chop)and suffered terribly. I am grateful this is over but am still feeling a tingling in my fingers. Will this eventually subside? I will begin radiation therapy within the next 30 days. My tumor was located in one area and body scans and other tests have shown this was the only area with cancer. I am to have radiation only on this specific area, but because of my rough time with chemo I am very apprehensive about the radiation. I am afraid, even though my doctor says it should be pain-free and simple, that the side effects will be bad. Can anyone give me some information?

Sorry you are frightened. Has the radiation first on the right inguinal area but nodes came up in the left inguinal area before the radTx was even finished. The radiation is nothing - you just need to lie still for about 5 seconds. Take care of the radiated area - don't put anything on it except what the doc or nurse tells you to. Now having chemo but it flattens me totally after about 3-4 days and I have excrutiating pain the the right lower quadrant of the abdomen that radiates to the vagina and cheeks of the butt. This has been going on since May so it has been pretty miserable. Guess there must be lymphoma on the ileocecal valve at the Peyer's Patches. Hope the doctor will talk with me about this next week because I really don't want a bowel obstruction. Hope all goes well for you. SH
