chemotherapy-related nausea

I am about to undergo chemotherapy treatment with Cisplatin and 5 Fluorouracil. What medications can be administered to me to reduce the nausea side effects?

Medications such as Zoferan, Anzemet, Benadryl, Ativan, Reglan and Compazine can all be used either alone or in combination for reduction of nausea episodes. Also, Decadron can also be used. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.

Hi, my husband has to take Ciplatin and 5FU, so far he finds that Zofran has the least amount of side effects and seems to help him the best. Light meals also help.Sometimes he just does like Ensure Plus the night before and the day of. And, luckily, even with the high doses he's on, he really doesn't suffer from the nausea too much. Good luck and keep a positive attitude!
