chemotherapy time line

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Jul 11, 2001 8:41 pm

I am going through AC chemotherapy for stage I breast cancer. I was pushed back a week between my first and second chemotherapies due to a low white blood count. Subsequently,I was given six injections of Neupogen. In the interim this brought my WBC to over 13K - temporarily. When I went in for my third cycle of AC my WBC was down to ~~2K. So I will be pushed back at leat another week. To date I have lost 2 weeks into the AC treatment. I have read, in my literature review of this therapy, that a certain time line post surgery (Lumpectomy -April 9,2001)is essential.

How will this impact me interms of the effectiveness of the chemotherapy and my future prognosis??
Radiation and hormonal therepy is on hold until the AC regiment is completed.

The benefit of the regimen is related to delivery of drug both on time and with more than 80% of calculated does. That is no more then a 20% reduction in the calculated dose of the drugs. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
