pregnancy after chemo

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Jul 26, 2001 11:36 pm

I am a 38 yr old female that just finished tx for breast ca. My last dose of adriamycin was in Feb. I have no children and know the chemo can cause sterility. I am wanting to know if there is a certain length of time before trying to conceive and if there are any chances of adverse affects to the child.

See the question dated 08/01. In general there is no length of time which is considered necessary before attempting to become pregnant. Good luck and thank you for using oncologychannel.

I had chemo back in 1974 and 1975. I now have 3 children, and 4 grandchildren!! In fact, not knowing I was pregnant, I had two cycles of chemo. My child was born perfect!(Not that I would take the risk again) I would wait until I was done with chemo and got my strenght back.
