recommendations?Hello,
I have been trying a few birth control pills over the past year, and I have found certain difficulties with each one. I am trying my best to find my "dream pill" for me, one with either none of my most hated side effects, or very moderate side effects. Here is a little history of each one I've tried already: First, Ortho-Novum 7/7/7-- Started about half a year ago. Started taking it, had bad vomiting and nausea, but nonetheless was my first time with birth controll pills. Over time, my sex drive/libido was totally diminished, and I was developing minor crabbiness. Second-- Yaz. Started taking it right after ortho-novum, worked great for first few months. Everything felt fine, until I began developing daily headaches and later had such depressing mood swings, I didn't know who I was. I was described as "a new person." Made things I love in life very miserable, and stopped taking it altogether at the end of March. I was so upset over what it did to me, that I waited a month to cleanse my system out of extra hormones before starting a new pill. Next, and the most recently, I was researching a pill without overly terrible mood issues or libido loss. I went to the clinic to have an appointment for: Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo -- got the pill, my clinician approved that this one would help me the most over my past experiences, and I brought it home. Didn't dare start taking it, instead researched reviews of it, and found that people were both suicidal/pregnant while on the pill. At this point, I just want some kind of birth control pill, nothing else, that can satisfy my needs.
Re: recommendations? Many women have experienced similiar related side effects from birth control hormones, you might want to consider the Lady-Comp fertility monitor.
The Lady-Comp measures the daily basal body temperture to the 100th degree within a minute. All you need to do is confirm the dates of menstruation. Its very easy to use and women have been having success with the method since 1987. The Lady-Comp provides 99.3% reliabilty for contraception on green light days (infertile days). Most women with regular cycles would need to use a barrier method on 8-10 red light days in the cycle. Its quick, easy and reliable....if you need more information, please contact me personally by email to [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] Website Address: [moderator note: website has been removed] Sincerely, Cathy RN RaXMedical Inc.
Re: recommendations?I have gone through all of the pills you listed. Finally got on Loestrin Fe (I took the generic, Microgestin), and loved it. I recently switched from the pill to an IUD (per my general practitioner's advice due to other medical issues that make it risky for me to be on higher doses of hormones), but Microgestin was the best I found for my body... hope that helps! :)
