helping my sister

Post a new topicby crush on Mon Sep 17, 2007 2:15 pm

Hello,

My sister is very depressed and has anxiety She will not go to the doctor and does not trust therapists. My mother and I are very worried as she shuts us off and has no real friends. She doesn't sleep or eat well. She is forty-two years old and leaves the house less and less. She will have bouts of anger, crying, and anxiety She is still greiving for a dog she lost two and a half years ago. How can I encourage her to get help or can someone recommend a private clinic--short term residence in Eastern Canada?

Sorry I do not know of any private clinics or short term programs in Eastern Canada. It does sound like your sister could use some help, a medication like Zoloft might be of help. You might consider an intervention, good luck

Hi Uro Doc,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. What do you mean by an intervention? Have you ever staged a successful intervention. What is involved?

You should contact your local or family physician for advice on how best to get your sister treated, good luck
