There are what's called transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) also known as mini strokes that may apply in your situation. They do not always show up on routine tests. Also since this happens during the night you might consider the possibility that sleep apnea may have something to do with it.

I have been having those types of episodes everyday for about 13 years and the doctors never know anything. Though after years it progressed to where I have problems speaking, memory and bouts of dementia for a few seconds. I am 28 so if you get any info let me know maybe your condition might be similar. Like I said I have been to doctors and they treat me like I am crazy. Good luck.
