Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding - Irregular bright spotting

Post a new topicby berrybluebird on Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:13 pm

I am 48. I have always had spotting between periods that was never bothersome and the Dr. was never concerned. Recently the spotting is lasting longer (but slower), appears brighter red in color and is causing significant itching in back labial area. Has anyone else ever had this issue. It even seems to make vag itch and burn a bit as well.

I do have burning and itching when I pee, but I don't know if you have this problem as well I am passing huge clots, last month i thought I was going to die, I went through 3 pads in 90 minutes. It has been like this the past few months. I started my period today and am dreading it. I want to know if anyone else experiences this or not.

I'm 35 and have been having abnormal bleeding for the last couple of years. My periods are not heavy, but long. I typically also have brown spotting/dryish discharge a week or so prior to my period. I bleed red during intercourse. In November my doctor prescribed Provera for 10 days. She also did a biopsy that came back normal. Yesterday I had a follow up sonogram, followed by another unexpected biopsy which now has me worried. My doctor commented about only touching my uterus slightly, resulting in bleeding. It was one week since my last period. I was told I also have a cyst too large on my right ovary. She prescribed Provera once again and I'm counting the days until I have to begin treatment. I feel unsettled because no one ever gives solid answers. To me, a normal biopsy is not enough to just accept the bleeding as normal. I'm lost...
