Has anyone had a REALLY bad reaction to the pill causing DUB

Post a new topicby BarbaraC0872 on Mon Jul 27, 2009 10:53 pm

Hi...I'm experiencing a very frustrating problem with (I think) my hormones. I took one cycle of Ortho_tricyclen and I hemorraged right after. I was put on Aygestin (progesterone) but every time I stop and get my period, I bleed excessively and incessantly. My body is really going crazy and I feel like it really is affecting my state of mind. Has anyone gone through this, or know of anyone else who has gone through it? I did an ultrasound and have a fibroid but I didn't have this problem prior to taking the pill. HELP!

Hey - I had a similar problem - I had a very bad reaction to Cerazette - spooted everyday for 3 months, then without warning, began to bleed like nothing I have ever known. Was passing golf ball sized clots every 30 mins for days. Went to hospital and doctors who put me on Microgynon 30, which stopped the bleed, but on which I spotted everyday. I have come off now after one cycle, and have had 8 days of on -off bleeding, some days just spotting, then gushing blood for a couple of hours then nothing again. Its amazingly frustrating, and upsetting, you feel like you can't get on with life at all.

I have made a decision not to take any more hormonal contraception, but am scared that this will never settle!
