Waiting for test

Post a new topicby hdebbie7 on Wed Sep 30, 2009 4:30 pm

Hi to all, i am new to this forum, i have answered a couple of post but thought i would share my story.
I lost both of my parents within 6 mths of eachother 3 years ago and my periods stopped. I did tell my doctor and he said that it was propbably shock and i was having other problems at the time with Diverticulitus so said we will deal with that again. During my wait for surgery regarding Diverticultus i went to him on a number of occasions to tell him that i thought i was showing signs of menopause as i was having hot flashes etc, but still he said we will deal with all that after your surgery.
I then out of the blue had a period which would have been 18 mths ago now, and yes same answer we will deal with it again. I had my sigmoidcolectomy April of this year and when i felt well enough i asked my doctor can we now sort out this lack of periods and wether i am at menopause or not.
Finually had blood test confirmed i was going through the menopause
I remembered a nurse once telling me if you have any sort of bleed post menpause you should visit your doctor, so when i was flooding with blood about 2 weeks ago i went straight to my doctors who gave me an internal and blood test and a urgent referal to have scans and biopsy done. he also told me not to worry it could be anything but be aware it could be endometrial cancer, i was shocked.
Well my appointment has come and i have 4 weeks to wait, its awful how do you not think about it, i dont know anything about this and need some help. I dont want to talk to my family and scare them for no reason if it comes back as nothing Debbie Wales UK
