Frustrated with ED and doctors.

Post a new topicby livingwith on Thu Feb 05, 2009 12:27 pm

My story is worrisome. Around 2004 I took steriods for a lift and it increased both my erections and drive. However, by late 2004, I was beginning to have trouble reaching orgasm, and erections were getting harder to achieve/maintain. So I stopped taking steroids. That made the problem get worse, much worse.
I went to a doctor in 2005 who prescribed nightly Viagra, but after several weeks of this, still no erections on demand (yes, at night I had erections during sleep, but not as still as...Read the full article

Andrew:

I certainly understand your frustration. I would like to share with you that there is a whole range of products out there (legitimate products) that could potentially provide you with a less frustrating outcome. Of course, I do not have enough information to feel comfortable throwing out solutions to you based on very little knowledge. I certainly do not want to increase your frustration. I dont know where you are located, our Urology clinic is in Houston, Texas, if it is possible for you to get to us, I firmly believe we could provide you with a solution with results you would be pleased with. If you are not, I would recommend you contact your local Urologist, perhaps a different one than the one you utilized prior with frustrating results. Of course, phychological issues are an issue for some, but I tend to agree with you that perhaps thats not your situation based on what you posted.

If Houston can work for you, please schedule a time to come in and see all the options with us. If not, please dont hesitate to let me know if I can assist you further. But dont give up eitherway. You can reach us at [moderator note: website address has been removed]

Andrew, I can surely sympathize with you-it sucks when your manhood is taken from you and there is no real solution. The ED drugs work sometimes but as we know sometimes can be very humiliating. I would like to keep in touch with you and maybe one of us will find something that works. I live in Texas and would go to Houston to visit the one who posted a reply but have no way of contacting them. my email is [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] jim

Livingwith, your post is vague and unclear. You said your doctor prescribed you 'nightly Viagra'. What do you mean by that? Viagra is a PDE-5 inhibitor whose effects last for two or three hours, so it has to be taken on demand, one hour before sex. It would be useless to take it before sleep. Are you sure you're taking it the right way? Have you tried a stronger dose? And have you tried taking vitamin E to enhance the efficacy of your Viagra pills?

Viagra is not the only solution to ED, it's not even the most effective solution. There are other PDE-5 inhibitors available (Cialis, Levitra) and many others are on the way (avanafil, lodenafil, udenafil). Maybe you could try one of those. There are also other types of oral drugs (phentolamine, trazodone) or topical solutions (TriMix gel) that could be helpful.

Be persistent and never give up, ED can always be overcome.
