anyone with testeosterone replacement therapy?

Post a new topicby mjsc50 on Fri May 15, 2009 8:59 pm

I just received the news that my testosterone level is significantly low for my age. My doctor has suggested testosterone replacement therapy as the exclusive treatment. I am curious as to whether anyone on the forum has undergone this regimen and whether there were effective or significant results in sexual function?

I just started testosterone replacement about 3 weeks ago. I now take a testo injection once per week. I am starting to feel much better- although I understand it may take up to 5-6 weeks for the full effect. I feel this is something you should definitely check into. Good Luck, Rando88

I have been on it for 9 months. 42 years old had prostate cancer too years ago. My test. count was very low so we treated with it to help fatige but also hoped it would help ed. No real help with the ED but highly recomend for overall health and well being. Gained ten pounds (alot of it muscle) but other then that no neg side effects.

DH was on T for about a year and it did help with energy, mood, the ED and he put on muscle like crazy.

The doc did a lot of testing to determine WHY the T was low. In the end, gluten sensitivity (which is a lot more common than you would think) seemed to be the reason. Getting off gluten improved the ED and he then stopped taking the T, guessing he would no longer need it. He was right, his last T test showed his level to be HIGH and the ED has continued to improve.

He is eating a Paleo type diet and it seems to raise T levels even if food intolerances aren't an issue. If you want to give the diet a brief try - Mark's Daily Apple is a pretty good blog/website for the diet.

good luck
