Cigarettes and Impotence

Post a new topicby twilliger on Sun Aug 23, 2009 2:04 pm

If there is a thread out there already started, I couldn't find it so please kindly leave me a link and don't B**** me out for not using the search button or some asinine thing because I tried. And sorry if this forum is not like that, I just joined, and am used to people in general being complete dicks on these things about stuff like that.

Anyways, I've read that smoking cigarettes can lead to a hardening of the arteries (or veins or whatever) thereby restricting blood flow to the penis making erectile dysfunction occur. I haven't had any tests done simply because either a) my doctors are assholes and would rather just pump me full of cialis and S*** like that, or b) they think this isn't my problem and won't appease my curiosity and tenacity to find a cure for this problem.

So my question is, if this indeed were my problem (I seem to have poor blood circulation, aside from this problem when I sit on the toilet for extended periods of time, i.e. taking a S***, my feet fall asleep half the time and or I wake up in the middle of the night and my entire arm is asleep, a somewhat regular occurence though hardly nightly) and I were to quit smoking, would these adverse affects of smoking be reversed? I don't expect to happen in a day but I mean ever, like 6 months or a year down the line or something. I realize quitting smoking would be ideal anyway but for some reason or another (probably because I'm 23) problems with my dick not working right are more threatening to me than the possibility of cancer or something. But ya, back to the question, could they be reversed through say exercise/quitting smoking/generally being a health nut or, aside from the obvious health bonuses of not being a smoker, would there be no affect? I am generally healthy anyway (eating properly and exercising 3 or 4 times a week) and only smoke a half pack a day or so. Thanks for any usable information you can bestow upon me.
