Low Testosterone

Post a new topicby dudenamedric on Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:52 pm

I went to the health department to get my ED problem checked out recently, and the doctor told me I had a lower than average amount of testosterone in my blood. I didn't really think to ask of ways to naturally increase it until I was gone. So does anybody here know of any ways to naturally boost the amount of testosterone in the blood?

After yrs. of low energy, depression, low libideo, just no zest for life, I tried numerous anti-depressants with no results. I have had my testosterone checked 3 different times. My total testosterone #s were 203,195,and 211 (the very low end for a 54 yr.old male) I finally decided to start testo. injections/ once per week. It has only been 3 weeks, but I am starting to feel much better. If it continues, as it should, in the next few weeks-I feel that this is the very best thing I could have done! Good Luck, Rando88

I have read that a "Paleo" orcaveman type diet can increase Testosterone.

this was true for my spouse. His T levels are now high. For him, the underlying cause of the low T turned out to be gluten sensitivity.

His endo did quite a lot of testing to determine WHY his T was low and your doc should too.

rand088,

DH had similar experience to yours. He felt a lot better with Testosterone, but once he changed his diet he didn't need the T anymore. It is important to know why your T is low. "Getting older" is not necessarily a sufficient answer.

OP -
Here's an article on how to decrease your T (tongue-in-cheek), they are advocating you do the opposite!

Here's a link to an article showing that sugar decreases T

Here's a link showing that low fat, high fibre diets decrease T

My point is that you may want to do some research on what lowers T and follow that route. It may be quicker than trying to raise T.
