Need Some Advice

Post a new topicby Ace Rhaa on Mon Apr 13, 2009 2:04 pm

I was wondering if I could get some advice on what to do with my situation because i want and need to do something. I dont know who else to talk to so hopefully this is helpful.. It is awkward and embarassing to talk to someone about it. Well first I was wondering at what age do men typically get ED? I don't think that I have it because I am only 21 years old and I always hear about older men having this problem not really any younger male adults. I am in good shape not the best but good. I try to work out 5 days out of the week sometimes it is less.. I dont have Diabetes or anything like that so I was wondering what could this be if it is not ED? I want to say i am to young but after reading what it is I pretty much fall into that catagory. I can get hard but cannot keep it long enough for sex and after this has happened the last couple of times it is starting to get psychological and its in my head now. I need to do something soon about this but what should I do? Talk to my family doctor about this?

See Your Doctor

The only person who can really help diagnose you is your doctor. Definitely see your doctor and tell him everything you told us. We can guess what might be the problem, but your doctor has the tests and tools needed to narrow down the causes more accurately.

Don't be afraid to ask your doctor about personal things like this - that is their job! Best wishes.

Yea i have an appointment for May 1st. It is weird to talk to him about it.. like how to even bring it up.. So what do you all think may be the problem? I am not nervous or anxious when this happens so I don't know.. any suggestions on what might be the problem?

Believe me, you're not alone. We are all guys and we all know how difficult it is to discuss this. But you're doing the right thing, only a doctor can help you and only he can assess the true cause of your problem (if there really is a problem). Talk to your family doctor and ask him about the correct course of action in your case - he'll probably recommend you to see a urologist or urology clinic. Good luck and keep us posted.

«Avodart is a ED pills.you may be use it.»

This is the worst advice I've ever seen on this forum. It's so bad, I think it should be deleted.

Avodart is NOT an ED treatment. In fact, it's quite the opposite. It is a powerful antiandrogen that is used to treat enlarged prostates (and male pattern baldness too, although it hasn't been approved by the FDA to treat this condition). The most common side effect of this drug is... erectile dysfunction.

Young men (even teenagers) also suffer from erectile dysfunction, but it's usually psychological - e.g. sexual performance anxiety. Psychogenic impotence is also a medical condition and can be treated with drugs.

This seems like sexual performance anxiety to me. I had the same problem and used an excellent ED drug, an alpha blocker called phentolamine. This oral drug works by blocking the effects of stress hormones on your erections (adrenaline is an erection killer). You can order phentolamine (brand name Vigamed) on the internet. Talk to your doctor before you decide to use it.
