I can only orgasm when i masturbate.......

Post a new topicby janbebe42 on Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:18 pm

I was perfect all my life til I took Paxil 10 years ago. I am now 43 and in a new relationship. I have not had an orgasm with sex for 5 years (and I get very horny and stimulated). I get so close (alhtough it takes 35 mins!) and it just sits there and starts to feel kind of weird or just plain disappears. Its so embarassing.! I presently take ginseng and some pre-menopause herbs (one of the herbs is wild yam, very good to increase your sex drive).

I also heard fish oil supplements help your brain chemicals which is directly related to your orgasms. It also helps migraines (which I get often for the past 2 years).

Sad thing is my new boyfriend has ED and I cant cum what a pair we are! Although I do enjoy foreplay its not like the real thing!

Hi janebebe42,

I am a sexual health educator and I am very passionate about helping women discover their sensuality. Many women in my E-Sensual Woman group have similar concerns, so you are not broken or alone. My usual suggestions are take some time out from climax focused activities. Enjoy your sensuality and your non sexual relationship with your partner. Have fun without going all the way. Try things like exploring more of what delights your senses or erotic massages. Remember not all orgasm or desire issues are directly attributed to physical dysfunctions. However, a negative mental association or disconnect can cause a physical response which then creates a vicious cycle, hence the mind- body connection. Medications can be an culprit as well. Let me know how things are going, I would love to help.

i had the same experience taking paxil.. i started it and was on it for only a month when i noticed a HUGE difference in my ability to orgasm... it was terrible, and i figured it was due to the meds..
so i called my doc and weaned off of it...

after such a terrible experience, i am reluctant to go on any type of antidepressants, and i need to..
due to being perimenapausal..

anyhow.. sorry to hear you are still having issues... thats unbelievable.. i hope things got better..after
reading your post i am glad i stopped taking paxil... maybe our posts will help someone else out
who is experiencing the samething now..

its a well known fact that Paxil is a kill joy! if you read the insert that came with your Paxil, it states in the side affects listing ,that Paxil is known to decrease sexual desire!!! And BOY OH BOY IT SURE DOSE!! have your Doc prescribe you another anti anxiety med, one that has the least side affects, mainly the one that kills your sexual appetite. Please don't just stop taking paxil, that is extremely dangerous! good luck.
