Fibromyalgia and Immunity

Post a new topicby Kathypwpw on Sun Jun 15, 2008 7:21 pm

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've had fibro for over 20 years. My 13 year old daughter was just diagnosed with it after a three month fight over trying to figure out what was wrong with her with her doctors. Anyway, she has a lot of the same problems as me along with some other health problems. She has had trouble with her immunity all her life. We went to immunity specialist trying to get a diagnosis and got nowhere. While she was on IVIG for three years, she did wonderfully. She actually got to have a life and friends and everything a kid should have. She was then taken off of IVIG and since has gone back to being constantly sick. Various infections as well as viruses. Anyway, I had heard something about an immune system problem that was related to the fibromyalgia and was wondering if anyone knew anymore about it. I am looking for any info. I can find for my daughter. She has enough to deal with she shouldn't have to be sick all the time too. So, if anyone knows anything about immune function as related to fibromyalgia and any treatments available, I would appreciate it if you could pass it on to me, Please. Thanks.
