Aura with mild headache

Post a new topicby dblue on Sun Jul 22, 2007 1:03 pm

I have experienced aura prior to mild headaches. I know that auras sometimes precede migraines, but the headaches I get are only mild. Does anyone know if this is a sign that I may experience migraine headaches at some point in the future?

It's called an acelphagic migraine event or "migraine aura without headache." And the shimmering, wavy lights are called scintillating scotoma. A neurologist could tell you more.

After experiencing these symptoms and consulting sites like this on the WWW, I believe that I suffer from this well recognised condition. I experience this in a very sporadic and unpredictable fashion. Do you, or anyone else, understand what triggers these episodes?
