dull ache in the base of skull

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Mar 31, 2005 12:54 pm

Lately I have had a dull achey pain in the base of my skull. It feels like a ball and chain attached to my head. Also parts of my face even one side of my tongue will go numb. Sometimes the tips of my fingers will also go numb. When my head hurts it feels sore like I have been hit with something. When all this happens my vision is dull and I am fatigued. Does anyone else ever experience this, if so what have you been told? Thanks.

Read the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

www.FibroFix.com/Symptoms.html

has a good list.

Yes, I have had this going on for over 8 months. I have the constant dull ache but also get severe and shooting pain going up behind ears to top of head. It started with the head pain, blurred vision and fatigue then about three months later I got new symptoms. I also have joint pain (all of them) and my ears hurt constantly (they ring too). Yeah, I feel like I was hit with a baseball bat and my brain feels bruised. My hands & legs hurt and my feet & hands go numb too... but the head pain is the hardest. I wish I knew what to tell you but I am still undiagnosed. Check out Occipital Neuralgia; it best describes my head pain (but I don't have the usual cause- C-2 nerve compression). I have seen two neuro's (and countless MD's)but I still have no explanation. LIMBO... not a fun place to be! Initially a lot of docs said it was stress, (something they like to hide behind when they simply don't know) but after abnormalities in spinal fluid and other tests, they believe that something is wrong... but what?!?
Have you had any tests (neck MRI)? Good luck and keep us posted.

I've been experiencing this same dull ache from behind the neck up to the head, it affects my vision and causes
fatigue also.
My eyes have been glossy and I have blurred vision.
What's scarry is that its been persistent now for about 6 weeks.
Other times it came and went in a few weeks, but this time its lingering on
with no end!

I was under the impression that this was due to the residual effects of Allergies ! Anyone hear of any association with Allergies ?
I have not considered any medical
exams yet, only because I feel I will be spinning my wheels also.
