Idiopathic Headaches?

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Aug 30, 2005 9:29 pm

I've been having these sudden jabs of severe pain in my right temple for about two years, and they just started happening every day. I spent several hours and find found a headache description that described me. I couldn't find anything/much on webmd.com and mayoclinic.com so I was wondering if anyone knows about it? Are there at-home or OTC treatments?

Hello. I also have had sharp shooting pains, as I call them, from time to time over the past 7 years. I had been to a couple doctors with no diagnosis. The last doctor I saw was a female and she explained them to me. First, if you are not female this may not apply as directly. But she said that during the course of the month our hormone levels change and this change causes the pains (i don't remember exactly how). I will tell you now that my life is a bit more easy going since they began, much less stressed since when they started, and I rarely have them anymore. Maybe try and relax? Cut out some stress? Changing diet, sleep etc. did not seem to help me and I was not prescribed any meds. Sorry... that's all I got... :-)
