Im almost ready to give up

Post a new topicby Soldier13B on Tue Jul 08, 2008 12:46 am

Im currently an active duty soldier, back in november of 2006 i started getting headaches as well as being nautious, loosing my balance, loosing appetite, having issues with my vision among other things. Went to sick call and kept being told that i needed to drink more water or i didnt eat enough etc etc. Then i had an incident that i had to go to the hospital to get checked out for some eye issues and they decided to do a ct scan, mind you this is nov 2007 by now, i was having a constant headache that did not go away and would wake me up at night, as well as all the other issues had gotten worse. The CT scan showed "a small paracerebellar arachnoid cyst" so they decided to do an MRI and refer me to a neurologist. The MRI report stated it showed a small paracerebellar cystic mass" anyways my neurologist decided he was going to order a neck MRI and start trying to find the cause of my headaches and trying treatment. Just to clarify my headaches will range from a 5/10 to a 9/10 but never go away. My neck MRI showed to "minor herniated discs abutting the thecal sack". He started is pill ideas, first i was on indocin, no effect, then naproxen and zomatriptan, no effect, depakote, no effect, sumatriptan, no effect, midrin, no effect, pamelor, no effect. He prescribed me ambian to make me sleep, only works for a couple of hours at a time, and phenegran to stop me from puking all the time. He stated i think you have hemecrania contunia, looked it up when i got home, said its specifically on one side of the head, ummmm nope mine are my entire head. Told him this next visit he said oh! ok i think you have SUNCT Syndrome, looked it up again and it says a sawlike headache generally behind the eyes that the level of pain varies every 5-120 seconds. ummm soooo nope wrong again. Thats his idea as of now, have another appointment later this month. As of now im on tegretol and supposedly have this SUNCT syndrom thing and just about ready to give up. He keeps telling me that the "small cyst" and the "minor herniated discS" could not be causing any of this so just forget about them. Anyone have any ideas? Anything at all??? im lost, im about to give up, i just want to get this fixed and carry on in the army but im about at the point of giving up, this pain is getting to be too much. Anything you have would be great. Thanks
