Migraine

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu May 13, 2004 6:39 pm

Hi- This is my first posting. I didn't know if anybody has gone through this, but here it goes. I have tried almost every drug out there (preventative and rescue) and they are now failing. I was hospitalized at 20 (now 28) with migraines and they put me on a few days of DHE45 treatments. After that, I had to move to Toradal injections and those DID work. But, I am having them again. Mine are in the back of my head, but are migraine. I have all migraine symptoms, but it's hard to hang in there while they are trying to find something that works. I had an occipital nerve block done today and am crossing my fingers that this could nail down the problem. Verapamil is what they have me on daily, but will be changing it soon. I am very depressed over this chronic pain and would really like to hear from anyone else. It's hard being any age and going through this.. I look at my 90 year old grandfather and he can do more than me at 28 right now. I am scared to be too far away from home in case I get a migraine and need to call the neurologist or go to the ER. The ER docs don't help anyway- they just give you Morphine and send you home - which then wears off and you spent your co pay and time at the ER for nothing. I am also scared to over do anything for fear of getting one. PLEASE- if you have experienced any of this, then respond :)
