Severe 24/7 headaches

Post a new topicby headache on Wed Oct 10, 2007 12:12 pm

I'm am desparately looking for some help. I have suffered with headaches for 18 years. I have one all the time. I can only liken it to having my head crushed in a vice. Most of the time the pain is constant but then up to 6/8 times a month it developes into something much worse. It's really dehabilitating. I've tried all medications as that's all the neurologist seem to want to do - give me meds. I want to find the cause and stop them but the medical profession are not interested. I have got a medication now, Relpax, which will take the severe nauseous headaches down into the managable day to day ones. This is totally taking over my life. Can anyone recommend a really good specialist in Virginia? Or any advice?

Thank you for your suggestion - yes, I've had the Botox treatment. It consisted of 11 injections but, unfortunately, made no difference at all.
