I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. The truth is that you still can live a full healthy life...although you may have to take medication for your hypertension and watch your diet, its really not the end. The advancements that we have seen in the medical field are amazing and within the next ten years or so there could be a major breakthrough with completely curing hypertension. I work in an ER and see hundreds of people every week with hypertension and who are on medication for it...some of them have been on medication for years and years and are still going strong. I'm 23 so I can see your point about being too young for this but you can still go out and have fun with your friends and leave the beer out of it. Try to take a positive approach to this...you're not dead and you have a really good chance of living a full life since you caught this before it did some real damage. Take the medication, change your diet and live your life! I really hope you do. You're too young to just give up.
