17 year old with high blood pressure

Post a new topicby Guest on Sat Sep 21, 2002 6:52 am

My 17 year old son just found out he has high blood pressure It's been about 160/95 for at least the last 3 weeks. He plays football and during one of his practices he got hit on the head. He was hurting pretty good so the next day I took him for x-rays. At the time no conc. showed. But a week later the family dr. said most likley he had one. At the time of his phys. for football the records showed (which I was not told) was high at that time. Now the family dr. is having test done to see what could be causing this. He is 6'2" at about 265lbs. He was never really sick. No high blood pressure runs in the family, except for my grandmother, her sisters and their father. He is having a chest x-ray and ultrasound on his kidneys. I know really nothing of this disease except not to eat alot of salt. Please help. Thanks for reading this.
