Chest and Back Discomfort

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Mar 27, 2005 6:23 am

I am a 44 year old male. In January 2005 I saw my doctor for a muscle achey soreness I was experiencing in my sternum and mid back. He prescribed motric(anti-inflamatory) which seemed to help. In February I started experiencing some lightheadedness which would last for periods of time each day. I checked my blood pressure and found it to be elevated. I never had a problem with blood pressure in the past. The doctor prescribed 20mg of lisinopril (blood pressure medicine). I had stopped taking the motric. He did a chest x-ray which was normal. He also did a blood work up to check anything going on with the heart. The blood work showed no abnormalities. Everything was good as far as the blood tests. My gasrto doctor has also run blood tests to check my liver and pancreas. Test was good. I am still experiencing soreness in sternum and back. I feel a little winded when going up and down stairs, but some excercise I do does'nt seem to make me feel winded.I also feel my heart pounding hard when I go up or down the steps. I do have a tendency to sleep and sit in bad posture positions which may attribute to back soreness. I am mostly concerned about my heart. I do have an appointment scheduled with a cardiologist I did not mention that I am the type of person that worries constantly when I get sick or feel bad and do stress alot. I feel that I have also had some anxiety attacks. I have a tendency to self diagnoss and always think the worsed possible things to be wrong with me. Could I still have something going on with my heart even if the chest x-ray and blood work were good.
