I'd like general information on blood pressure machines

Post a new topicby femaleissues on Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:27 pm

hi,
my doctor cancelled a procedure due to my bottom number on my blood pressure it was 101 & the next time was 108. my top numbers are 157.

My machine that I just purchased isn't getting numbers above 93. What do people do to determine if the home machine measures close to the doctor's office they do it the old fashion way by watching the blips in the gage.

any thoughts?

Hi,

I dont know where you live and i dont know if you will get this message as your post was done in 2008, but the machine i use is a lloyds pharmacy blood pressure machine. It is fantastic and does numbers above 120 + bottom numbers and 190 + for the top numbers.

Dont know if this will help you!

Best wishes

I have a Medline blood pressure monitor. It will read numbers over 100 and 200 and also give you your pulse. It was about $110, but well worth it. When you get it take it to your doctor's office. You can take your BP in your left arm, then your nurse can take it in your right arm. That way you will know how close the readings are. Most good ones are within a few points (+-) of the doctors readings. With numbers like you have, do get a good one!!
