what is the medication Cotrimoxazole ds 800/160 used for? is it for urinary tract infections? does it have to do with hiv? thankx

That is one of the most commonly prescribed antibiotics for urinary tract infections. In the US it's also called bactrim or trimethroprim sulfamethoxazole. We also use it to prevent PCP pneumonia in hiv infected people with less than 200 cd4 cells. GR
