arscan appendicitis appear as a symptom of acute viral syndrome?
approx. 6 weeks after a relatively low risk exposure I came down with symptoms that looked like appendicitis, severe abdominal pain, vomiting, mild fever and occasional diarrhea. Could it be that I am seroconverting? One side point. I have read that the appendix produces antibodies. Is it possible for people who had their appendixes removed to seroconvert later that 6 months or not produce antibodies at all, since they lack the appendix which would have produced the antibodies to the virus?
Re: arsThis is interesting and you have gone to great lengths to come up with a hypothesis to explain your symptoms!
Appendicitis and the abdominal symptoms you explain are not those seen with ARS. Lack of an appendix will not make you seroconvert later. GR
can appendicitis appear as a symptom of acute viral syndrome. approx...
Re: Re: arsThen Dr, what are symptoms that would strike you as ARS? Would a stomach flu count as one? My stomach feels extremely bloated, like its full of air or gas in it. It causes pain and discomfort. Very grateful for your time.

Re: Re: Re: arsNo. ARS is a flu or mono like illness. Fever, red rash (like measles), swollen glands, maybe sore throat and or cough, but the respiratory symptoms are not that prominent. The GI stuff you describe is not typical. GR
