Chlamydia can be treated with antibiotics. But in many cases, it causes no symptoms, so people can be infected without even knowing it. If Chlamydia infections go untreated, they can lead to more serious health problems, such as infertility. Even though symptoms of Chlamydia are usually mild or absent, serious complications that cause irreversible damage, including infertility, can occur ""silently"" before a woman ever recognizes a problem. Chlamydia also can cause discharge from the penis of an infected man."

i agree with you that sexually active men and women can be exposed to chlamydia bacteria during sexual contact with an infected person. The more sex partners a person has, the greater the risk of chlamydia infection. Babies are at risk of acquiring a chlamydial infection from their infected mother.
