ORAL SEX

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Apr 15, 2002 1:42 pm

I HOOKED UP WITH A GIRL WHO WAS HIV POS BUT I DIDN'T KNOW AT THE TIME. I GAVE HER MANUAL SEX AND MY FINGERS WERE LITERALLY DRENCED BUT I DON'T THINK I HAD ANY CUTS AND I EVEN WENT DOWN ON HER BUT IT WAS ONLY FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE. I FOUND OUT LATE THAT SHE WAS POSITIVE AND AFTER THAT I WAS STILL WITH HER BUT WE USED PROTECTION. I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK THE CHANCES ARE OF ME CONTRACTING HIV FROM THAT FIRST TIME WE WERE TOGETHER. IF IT MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE HER VIRUS LEVELS ARE AND WERE UNDETECTABLE. I'M ALREADY GETTING TESTED FOR THE 6 MONTH TEST NEXT WEEK SO I KNOW I HAVE TO WAIT BUT ANYTHING THAT WOULD HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. AND I WAS WONDERING IF IT COULD ABSORB JUST BY BEING IN YOUR MOUTH. THANKS.

A positive person who is undetectable has a MUCH lower risk of transmission with high or low risk activities. The activities you describe are no risk (manual stim) and very low risk under any circumstances. So I'd say your risk is about zero.

how can there be no real threat if when in my other question about the guy you said that i could be infected from having him cum in my mouth? isn't going down on a girl the same thing? i'm confused.

There's less hiv in vaginal secretions, and less volume of secretions that enter your mouth than if someone ejaculates in your mouth.
Let me ask you an honest question:
What is it you're really concerned about? How can I help you? This ain't stump the stars.

sorry for making it seem that way..i'm just really worried. see my boyfriend made me ask the first question for him because i'm HIV positive. but i asked the second question because i'm extremely worried about him and nothing better to do during the waiting for the 6 month test than worry excessively. thank you for answering them though...it makes me feel a little more sure. and if it helps any, i really appreciate your help

Thanks for making that clear. If your viral load is undetectable, and he only had manual stimulation and brief oral contact with you, he can stop worrying. GR
