Dear Dr.
Hello again I had wrote you some months back. Just to refresh your memory I had a very high risk possible exposure back in august. I have had a pcr test at 17 days,a antibody test at 4 months and 6 months all neg. I had a bunch of blood work done as well as the hiv test I had asked for a hiv1 and2 test. The results read as follows-
HIV-1 ABS-EIA
HIV-1 ABS,QUAL
Negative by EIA screen
no antibodies to HIV-1 detected.
My question is exactly what was done I have called the lab-LabCorp to find out what test was used and if it detects 1 and 2 and if it detects all subtypes the had no clue to what I was talking about.I thought you may use this lab or would know.
It has been six months and I still do not feel right, I get tierd more easily,my muscles feel weak, and sometimes at night I get hot flashes not really sweats and I have had loose but not quite diarea. Are any of these related to Hiv?
Would you recomend futher testing? HIv 2, subtype o ?
Thank you for your time.

Elisa's usually test for 1 and 2. I'd not recommend specific testing for 2 at this time. I would, however, recommend working with a doctor who's expert in evaluating things that could mimic HIV. This could be a great internist or an HIV doc. AAHIVM.org lists HIV docs.
