agglutination of spermsHi Dr.,
I am a 30 yr. old male, married for the last 4 years. We are trying to have a baby for the last 3 years. The doctor at the infertility treatment centre has told us that the sperms count, motility and longevity is good enough but I had candidiasis (for which she treated me with Furcon 50 mg) for around 10 days. Now, she says that the candidiasis is no more observed in the semen sample but there still is agglutination of sperms and she showed me some lumps under the microscope (looking like honeycomb). She is now treating me with ampicillin 500mg thrice a day for 20 days, suspecting a urinogenital tract infection. Is it possible that the urino-genital infection is the cause of the agglutination and resulting infertility?
Re: agglutination of spermsYes Men can develope silent infections which can change the semen quality. I formal semen culture is the best way to follow the resolution of the infection.
